DSW Ventures is a start-up and early-stage venture capital firm focusing on high potential businesses based in the UK regions. Like the founder teams we back, we too are a small, agile team, making decisions quickly and commercially. We invest funds on behalf of British Business Investments, family offices and angel investors looking to benefit from investing under SEIS and EIS tax reliefs. Part of DSW Capital plc, our team is Manchester-based and operates across the UK through the group’s regional offices.
I was approached by DSW from a recommendation through a previous client. They had been working with a previous designer to help them update their website which wasn’t quite working for their brand. They were looking to refresh the images on their website without using photographs and they didn’t want to use generic illustrations that every other investment company used such as money, angel wings on investors and the classic charts and graphs.
To keep costs down, we agreed that I would design 3 pages to set the style for their developer to roll out.
I agreed to find them an illustration style and source all the different images they required.
The result was a 3 page website which was handed over to a developer that the client selected. The images we had selected were professional and fitting for the industry but had a certain softness to them to appeal to the innovative founders looking for investment. The client was really happy with the result and said they were happy to recommend you to ours and other portfolio companies.
